July. 29, 2009
Is several surveys and research conducted it has been shown that the USA is still trailing behind Europe in legalized
casino gambling and regulating this tremendous online market could drive a major economical market.
Some of the conclusions released in these studies include:
The Economist reported that a study for the European Parliament last year found that “seven of the union’s 27 members outlaw online casino gambling. Of the other 20, only 13 have liberalized their markets. The rest limit casino gambling to monopolies owned or licensed by the state.”
Online casino gambling is still illegal in the USA and the government has ordered banks to freeze accounts that are used to process payments for online poker operators to stop gamblers from using online gaming services provided by overseas suppliers.
It has been reported that the legalization of
online poker ranked near the top of the US citizen wish-list policy proposals submitted to Barack Obama through the internet site Change.gov.
Goldman Sachs is predicting the legalization of
casino USA gambling in the USA and claims that a legal online poker and casino market would be worth up to $12 billion which is too great a benefit for lawmakers to ignore.
